Indianapolis, Indiana Researchers are making discoveries every day at the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories at Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center. In October, the IU team joined the Foundation at Tickled Pink.

How many hugs, “thank yous” and dollars can you squeeze into one evening? Researchers from the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories knew better than to count at Tickled Pink. However, their grins turned to gasps when the Foundation’s fund-raising total was announced. Soon after, the dreaming began: More equipment? More researchers? More space? Hmm, a trip to the Caymens? Co-Directors Hari Nakshatri and George Sledge are grateful to have research resources when national grant funding is so scarce. Thank you! Yours is the single largest philanthropic resource utilized by IU to recruit and retain the outstanding investigators, move quickly to exploit technological advancements, and discover new and better treatments for women with this disease. In addition to Hari and George, researchers Brittney-Shea Herbert, Poornima Nakshatri, Linda Han, Monet Bowling, Susan Claire, Milan Radovich (and Betsy) attended and loved the event.
