Two Breast Cancer Survivors to Bicycle Across America
Team Vera Bradley joins the National Race Across America Race
Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 15, 2009) —
Survive 2 Thrive is the message Team Vera Bradley will spread as eight cyclists including two female breast cancer survivors ride in a non–stop relay race across America (raceacrossamerica.org) to benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer (verabradley.org).
Beth Goldsmith, a one-year breast cancer survivor and Lisa Friedman, a three–year survivor, are elated to take on this challenge.
“I am so very fortunate to be able to even do this event. I hope to inspire anyone going through difficulties in life that you can come out on top and still realize your dreams even under great adversity,” says Friedman.
Beginning in Oceanside, California and riding 3000 miles to end in Annapolis, Maryland, Team Vera Bradley hopes to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and encourage everyone to thrive in an active lifestyle. The team will blog and videotape the entire journey at facebook.com/verabradleyfoundation.
To date, the team has raised $80,000 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Learn more about Team Vera Bradley at verabradley.org.
