Stars and the Foundation
Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 27, 2009) — As we’re reaching for the stars, the stars are noticing us. This year we’ve teamed up with celebrities across the country to help spread the Foundation’s message and breast cancer awareness. Here is what our new friends have to say about the Foundation and how it has personally impacted them and their families.
My mother is a breast cancer survivor. So we personally understand the vital role breast cancer awareness programs play in combating this dreadful disease and the important work the Vera Bradley Foundation is doing. My family loves the Vera Bradley products so supporting the Vera Bradley Foundation is a win-win.”
Emily Hughes, Olympic and World Figure Skater
The Vera Bradley Foundation has made a difference for millions of families like mine who have been affected by breast cancer. I want everyone to know how much we appreciate all those involved with this wonderful foundation.”
Amy Hughes, mother of Olympic and World Figure Skater Emily Hughes
I feel like Vera Bradley has done such great things over the last 10 years raising money for breast cancer research. It makes me very proud to be a part of it . . . My breast cancer was found in a completely routine mammogram and I want to keep drumming that message into people’s heads to go get your mammograms. There’s a 98% survival rate if you catch it before it spreads beyond the breast.”
Cynthia Nixon, Tony and Emmy-Award winning actress best known for her role in Sex and the City
The great team at Vera Bradley should be commended on their remarkable dedication to breast cancer research and awareness. They are leading the charge to fight breast cancer. It’s more than impressive—it’s life changing.”
Lia Knight, Host of the nationally-syndicated The Lia Show
