Local girls tennis team rallies for a cure
(June 9, 2008) — For the past seven years, the girls tennis team from Zionsville Community High School in Zionsville, Indiana, have been wearing pink uniforms and holding fund raising activities to help raise breast cancer awareness and funds for research. In March the team took a trip to Vera Bradley headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and met with Heidi Floyd, Vera Bradley Foundation Ambassador and a breast cancer survivor. Inspired by Heidi's story the girls decided to hone their efforts on supporting the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. Since then girls have been selling cupcakes and bottled water at every home meet and are already brainstorming new ways to continue their support for and involvement with the Foundation. Recently the team was featured in the June issue of Central Indiana's High School Sports. Click here to read the full story.
