We’re so tickled pink nearly 500 of our closest girlfriends joined us for a fabulous girls’ night out. More than 500 ladies, sparkling in pink, attended our 8th annual Tickled Pink event and helped raise more than $80,000 for breast cancer research during Friday’s event.

“The warmth and good cheer at this event is tangible,” said Catherine Hill, executive director of the Vera Bradley Foundation. “We’re delighted to announce this year’s Tickled Pink raised more dollars than ever. Many of our generous cash and hospitality sponsors have been directly affected by breast cancer. They were more than willing to step up and help us exceed our goal.”

Vera Bradley transformed its operations and distribution center into an elegant, festive setting with beautiful white blooms and accents from the new breast cancer awareness color Tea Garden.

The ladies all enjoyed the live performance by American Idol season 9 contestant Charity Vance, who sang new songs off her soon-to-be released national debut album.

“My life and my music are all about the people and the causes that inspire me – my commitment to breast cancer research is no exception,” Charity said. “Everyone I meet has a story that inspires me.”

Guests were among the first to get a sneak peek at next season’s colors and styles, and meet with Vera Bradley designers. Plus, the ladies channeled their inner fashion artist to design their own handbags.

Throughout the night, attendees had the chance to win exciting items in the silent auction, including a one-of-a-kind Vera Bradley-inspired bike, a day of shopping with Vera Bradley designers, a beach getaway, even a diamond ring!

The best part, though, came at the end when Vera Bradley’s executive vice president of corporate philanthropy, Jill Nichols presented a check in the amount of $2.7 million from the year’s fundraising efforts to the team of doctors representing the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast cancer Research Laboratories.

“We are inspired and motivated by this incredible support,” said Dr. George Sledge co-director of the Vera Bradley Research Labs.

Afterward, guests headed over to Vera Bradley’s store at Jefferson Pointe for an after party, where the good cheer continued.

As a memento, all guests took home an East West Tote in Tea Garden.
