Letter From the Director - January

(Tuesday, January 25, 2011)
Fort Wayne, Indiana Charitable contributions are made with your heart, and we know this. Last year you may have entered a contest to win the beautiful “Interlocking Hearts of Hope” quilt designed and created by our friend, Diana Bennett. We were moved beyond words when the winner of the quilt donated that wonderful piece to the Women’s Retreat in Elkhart, thereby giving everyone the chance to enjoy this art forever.

This fundraiser, powered for an entire season by the Elkhart County Visitors Bureau Quilt Gardens Tour and the stores listed below, raised close to $8,000 for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer! All proceeds from the Foundation go directly to The Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories. Your participation was a powerful addition to that amount. Working together, we can all make a change.

We are pleased to announce that Diana Bennett has once again generously offered to create a one-of-a-kind textile piece in the form of a quilted wall hanging. This will be revealed at the 2011 Gathering of Quilters in Schererville, Indiana, (3/19/11) and will be on display throughout northern Indiana the remainder of the summer. Please visit to learn more!

Thank you for getting to know us through this beautiful quilt. We invite you to keep in touch with us all year long by visiting, on Facebook at Vera Bradley Foundation or on Twitter by following @followheidi.
