What is the Foundation's mission?
“The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to end breast cancer in our lifetime.”
How does Vera Bradley support the Foundation?
When you purchase designs in Vera Bradley breast cancer awareness colors, you show your support for breast cancer research. Vera Bradley is dedicated to eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. Since 1993, Vera Bradley has supported breast cancer research through generous contributions of money and other resources to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
In addition to Vera Bradley’s support, where does the money come from?
Foundation events are a cornerstone of our fundraising. The annual Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Classic is the largest amateur women’s golf and tennis charity tournament in the country. More than 2500 guests, players and volunteers join us with six divisions of tennis and four golf tournaments held at three separate clubs. And our Tickled Pink event, which unites more than 500 Vera Bradley enthusiasts every year for a behind-the-scenes brand experience, brings more support to the cause.
In addition to individual donations, dedicated friends, Vera Bradley retailers and other committed partners nationwide host their own events in a variety of ways to invite more contributors to help.
What does the Vera Bradley Foundation fund?
Since the Foundation was formed in 1998, funds raised have been given to the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center in Indianapolis to support research into the cause and cure of breast cancer.
A team of more than 35 researchers collaborates at the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories. This team collaborates and leads clinical trials with researchers nationwide. Their focus on individual genetic make-up is leading to promising discoveries in the areas of diagnosis, treatment and prevention, as it strives to improve patient outcomes.
